I think that&#039;s actually the most obvious point of all. The reality is 99% of a band&#039;s success is propelled by fans. Any band that doesn&#039;t understand that concept isn&#039;t a band really - they&#039;re a bunch of people who play for their own self-gratification.  Which is fine - if that&#039;s your goal. I&#039;ve seen some absolutely horrible band-fan interaction including spitting on fans at a gig, refusing to sign autographs or ignoring their existence... I don&#039;t get it.

Seriously, what is it with the Canadian music industry? You folks DO know there&#039;s an industry because of the people showing up to see the bands play, right? So, going by this, the ONLY people you need to be courteous and professional with are the other folks in the industry, but not the people who are PAYING TO SEE YOU.

Once, just once, I&#039;d like someone to say, &quot;Hey, be grateful there are people who want to give you money for things like CDs and merch, and sign autographs and pose for photos with a smile and a handshake. They deserve that.&quot; Just once.</description>
