TIMA RECORDED MATERIAL CATEGORIES

A. Eligibility Requirements:

1. The musician or entire band must be a domicile* of the Province of Ontario.
2. The musician or entire band must be Canadian owned and operated with no affiliation to a multinational label, with the exception of a distribution deal.
3. A musician or band that is a domicile* of Canadian provinces OTHER THEN ONTARIO can ONLY apply for “Best Out-of-Province” The musician or band must be Canadian owned and operated with no affiliation to a multinational label with the exception of a distribution deal.
4. A musician or band that is a domicile* of any US state can ONLY apply for “Best USA.” The musician or band must be USA owned and operated with no affiliation to a multinational label with the exception of a distribution deal.
5. A musician or band that is NOT a domicile* of the USA or Canada may apply ONLY for “Best International.” The musician/band must have no affiliation to a multinational label with the exception of a distribution deal.
6. A musician or band that is 18 years old or under and a domicile* of Ontario at the time of application may only apply for “Best Young Songwriters”

*The TIMAs define domicile as the true, fixed permanent home and principal establishment to which the musician (or each musician, in the case of a band) has the intention of returning whenever they/he/she is absent therefrom.

C. Application Fee(s)

All applicants are subject to the $25.00 CND entry fee for TIMA recorded material categories, with which you are able to apply for as many categories as you feel your music is applicable.

If you want to submit more than 2 songs for consideration, you must fill out a SEPARATE online application and submit an additional fee of $25.00.

D. Further Information

Nominees for the TIMA recorded material categories will be announced in July. Winners will be announced at the 6th TIMA award ceremony, tentatively scheduled for July in Toronto, Ontario. Nominees will receive complimentary tickets to the award ceremony. Winners will receive $60,000 in industry sponsored prizes.

HOME AND NATIVE SOUND SERIES APPLICATION

A. Eligibility Criteria

1. The musician or entire band must be a domicile* of the Province of Ontario.
2. The musician or entire band must be Canadian owned and operated with no affiliation to a multinational label, with the exception of a distribution deal.

C. Application Fee

All applicants are subject to the $12.50 CND entry fee for HNSS categorie. If you apply for both the TIMAs and HNSS, you will receive a $6.50 CND discount.

D. Further Information

HNSS categories include HNSS – Acoustic, HNSS – Electric and HNSS – Urban. Showcases will begin in October 2010 and will take place every Wednesday at The Central in Toronto, Ontario. We will book as many artists as possible. For more information on HNSS showcases, visit http://www.homeandnativesound.com. Particpants may be required to play a FINALE round to take care of any tied scores. Winners will be announced at the 6th TIMA award ceremony. Winners will receive am industry sponsored prize package valued at $15,000.

*The TIMAs reserve the right to add categories, or remove categories if bands are compatible with and/or can be considered for other genres.
