APPLY NOW:

Applying for the Toronto Independent Music Awards and Home and Native Sound Series is easy! Follow these steps:

A. FIND OUT WHICH CATEGORIES YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR!

BANDS OR MUSICIANS FROM THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO:

• If you are an independent* musician or band from the Province of Ontario you can apply for ALL CATEGORIES (including: Toronto Independent Music Awards recorded material categories and the Home and Native Sound showcase series).
• If you are 18 years old or younger at the time of application and you are an independent* musician or band from the Province of Ontario you may ONLY apply for “Best Young Songwriters.”

BANDS OR MUSICIANS FROM ANOTHER PROVINCE IN CANADA:

• If you are an independent* musician or band from another Province in Canada, you can ONLY apply for “Best Out-of-Province.”

BANDS OR MUSICIANS FROM THE UNITED STATES:

• If you are an independent* musician or band from the United States, you can ONLY apply for “Best USA.”.

BANDS OR MUSICIANS FROM OUTSIDE UNITED STATES AND CANADA:

• If you are an independent* musician or band from outside the United States and Canada, you can ONLY apply for “Best International.”

*Independent means: you have no affiliation to a multinational label, with the exception of a distribution deal.

B. FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM!

• Click HERE to fill out our online application form. You only need to fill out one form for TIMA and/or HNSS.

C. PAY THE APPLICATION FEE (you will be linked to Paypal after you fill out the Online form):

If you are ONLY applying to the Toronto Independent Music Awards:

• you may upload two songs and are subject to the $25.00 CND entry fee. You are able to apply for as many categories as you feel your music is applicable.
• If you want to submit more than 2 songs for consideration, you must fill out a SEPARATE online application and submit an additional fee of $25.00.

If you are applying for the Home and Native Sound Series and the Toronto Independent Music Awards:

• you receive a $6.50CND discount and are only subject to a $31.50CND entry fee.

If you are applying for ONLY Home and Native Sound:

• you are subject to a $12.50 CND entry fee.

D. FURTHER INFORMATION (READ ONLY):

Deadline for the Toronto Independent Music Award Ceremony (recorded material categories) is April 22nd, 2011. Winners will be announced at the 6th TIMA award ceremony, tentatively scheduled for end-of-August 2012 in Toronto, Ontario. Nominees will receive complimentary tickets to the award ceremony. Winners will receive a TIMA, $60,000 in industry sponsored prize, an opportunity to perform at the following award ceremony, networking opportunities and much more.

HNSS categories include HNSS – Acoustic, HNSS – Electric and HNSS – Urban. Showcases will begin in October 2010 and will take place every other Sunday at Clinton’s Tavern in Toronto, Ontario. We will book as many artists as possible. For more information on HNSS showcases, visit: http://www.homeandnativesound.com. Participants may be required to play a FINALE round to take care of any tied scores. Winners of the Home and Native Sound Series will be announced at the 6th TIMA award ceremony. Winners will receive a TIMA award, an industry sponsored prize package valued at $15,000 and a chance to perform at the sixth award ceremony.

*The TIMAs reserve the right to add categories, or remove categories if bands are compatible with and/or can be considered for other genres.
