The date is set! The 2009-2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards will take place on: FRIDAY, JULY 23rd, 2010 @ The Phoenix Concert Theater in Toronto, Ontario.
TIMA 2009-2010 will feature approx. 10 performance by 2008 winners, award and prize announcements for recorded material categories and BEST LIVE categories, performances by winners of the TIMA 2009-2010 BEST LIVE Showcases, giveaways, booths from our sponsors, media green room and much more!

Remember, all nominees will receive complimentary tickets. Tickets for the public will be on sale soon!

2. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: RECORDED MATERIAL AND
BEST LIVE!

Deadline for submissions to the TIMAs “RECORDED MATERIAL” and BEST LIVE categories is:
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 @ 5pm via our ONLINE SYSTEM or SONICBIDS.
Any subsequent applications will be considered for the TIMA 2010-2011 “BEST LIVE” and “RECORDED MATERIAL” categories, subject to the rules, regulations and 2010-2011 award ceremony and showcase format.

3. GET YOUR SONG ON THE TIMA 2009-2010 TIMA COMPILATION CD!

WHAT YOU GET:
1 track on a high quality and well-produced CD. The CD will be manufactured by RDR Music Group (http://www.rdrmusic.com/), mastered by FatLabs Studios(http://www.fatlabs.com/) and will have pro graphics. The CD will be personally mailed by the TIMAs to 55 labels in Canada, the USA and international areas (full list provided via email upon request). The TIMA compilation will be distributed (free) to all attendees (approx. 1000 people) including VIPs and MEDIA on the awards date: Friday, July 23rd 2010 @ The Phoenix Concert Theater. We give all current and future 2009-2010 sponsors a copy of the CD.

COST:
$175 CND for one track (we will only accept 1 track per TIMA applicant).

On December 9th we’re back at the Central with a brand new season of awesome live music to determine which three independent artists and bands rock the best live show in the city.

Up for grabs are three industry sponsored prize packs valued at $15,000 each. Winners will be announced at the 2009/2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards in July 2010.

PRIME RADIO COVERAGE – NEW FOR SEASON TWO We love our TIMA artists, so naturally it makes our hearts swell up with pride when we hear them on the airwaves. This season we’ve teamed up with 102.1 The Edge to give one performer from each showcase prime radio exposure on Toronto’s best new music radio station, The Edge. YOUR band could win a spot in the Edge’s weekly concert announcement, which will air eight times leading up to your TIMA BEST LIVE gig. Want your name to be heard by thousands of people all over the GTA? Submissions for Season Two of BEST LIVE showcases are still being accepted, apply under the “Entry: tab. The Best Live category is open to ALL GENRES.

CD RELEASE PARTY
2008 TIMA winners of Best Alternative Rock and Best Song, Moeraes Fate (formerly known as DAME) will be helping us give birth to Season Two with a performance and the official release of their brand new album “Making of the New Me”.
