ALEX I think what our band also has which is important is that kind of staying power with people because there’s a lot of depth and I think a lot of that comes from the music, but mostly the lyrics because everything we do do has a strong point. You can always walk away with something from it, it’s not just like ‘oh this crazy band, that was really cool’ and then you walk away and you feel empty with it, you don’t keep anything with you. So, I think the big thing that sets us apart is that we have a lot of depth in terms of actually making art, music.

BD: You’re both from the east coast. How are you finding the Toronto scene compared to back home? What east coast influences do you bring to Toronto?

Matt: There’s places to play.

Ben: Back home, Chicago, Illinois. Houston, Texas, people go on and on that the east coast is thriving. I disagree with that to some extent. Halifax, yes. Booming, no. We were a little naïve coming to Toronto. I thought competition would be a minor thing. Going to people for shows you see how competitive it is. The entertainment industry isn’t half in your face – that’s left us quite humbled. We’re basically open to any place we can be. BD: What are your plans for upcoming shows?

Matt: We’ve been working on getting our set tight to be able to play as well as possible as a band on stage.

Ben: … affecting them in some way, shape or form. If our music is potent enough to do all that, we’re on the right track. We want people to be able to relate and identify with our music.
