Hey everyone,

We have a very important announcement concerning TIMA 2011. Our TIMA BEST LIVE Showcase Series will now be known as the Home and Native Sound Series (“HNSS”). Not only do we have a new name, which is a nod to the breadth of talent that we have in Canada, but we have also re-branded  the event and launched a new website which can be found here: http://www.homeandnativesound.com.  HNSS will operate in a very similar way to the BEST LIVE Showcase Series. You can still submit via the TIMA, HNSS or Sonicbids application process to be considered in three categories: Electric, Acoustic and Urban. Showcases will take place throughout the year, the launch party is tentatively scheduled for October 8th, 2010, and showcases will resume every Wednesday @ The Central in Toronto, ON.

Eligibility Criteria is the same as the TIMAs, the band/artist must be a domicile of Ontario and must have no affiliation to a multinational label with the exception of a distribution deal.

2-3 Judges will be present at every HNSS showcase and will score each performing band in their respective categories. Top scorers will comprise the nominees and ultimate winners of the TIMA award categories as follows:

HNSS: Electric

HNSS: Acoustic

HNSS: Urban

To be clear, HNSS categories still comprise the TIMA live categories. The winners will still be announced at the 2010-2011 TIMA award ceremony.

The re-branding will open HNSS and the TIMAs to more government grant opportunities. In addition, the re-brand is a newer, bigger, better version of the TIMA BEST LIVE showcases and will bring more attention to participating artists by expanding the scope of our showcases.
