WHAT IS THE TORONTO INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS?
Toronto Independent Music Awards (“TIMAs”) is a bi-annual music award ceremony and showcase series for musicians in the Province of Ontario. Now on its eighth season and sixth award ceremony, TIMA has become the platform for independent musicians to network, attain tools for success and be discovered.
The TIMA is a coveted award shared by independent up-and-coming musicians who have gone on to sign with major and independent labels, top-charts, secure major motion picture publishing deals, and win Junos.

A home-grown, not-for-profit business created with an entrepreneurial spirit to support independent Canadian musicians. TIMA awards, acknowledges, and celebrates songs and performances by independent Canadian musicians across the Province of Ontario without regard to recording quality, industry affiliation or sales history. TIMAs is supported by Canadian and international music industry professionals, journalists, accomplished recording artists, broadcasters, and most of all – music fans and aficionados.
